Victoria likely didn’t get a tracking number, just a receipt saying that it was returned.Īmazon has produced for me a form with a UPS tracking number and a specific UPS Store to return my package to. UPS just collects stuff and throws it in a big box. I meant for you to check the shipping status using the UPS tracking number that should be on your receipt. In my Amazon account there is still the same note " Return requested. Have you tracked the package to determine its status? I am planning to wait until January 20th (two weeks since sending) and, if there is no refund, I'll contact Customer Service. It's been nine days and my Amazon account still shows only that a refund has been requested. I returned an item to Amazon on January 6th: I went to a UPS store and they gave me a receipt. The charge was finally reversed for good. I escalated to their email support (the "concerned team") and was given a similar run-around.Įventually, I had to send an email to (it goes to the highest level of customer support) and explain the situation. I used the live chat feature again and they said I wouldn't be refunded due to them not receiving the correct item back. A week later, it was charged back to my credit card again because when they received the lens, it wasn't what the order showed (remember, they sent me the wrong lens!). I used their live chat and got them to refund the charge a second time as it had been scanned in at the UPS store directly and was in their hands as a contracted Amazon return center. The charge was refunded after a few days, but then it was charged back to my credit card again after it didn't show up at the return center after two weeks. So I returned it using the option "wrong item sent" and dropped it off at a UPS store where it was scanned in. A secondary problem being was that they slapped a label on the lens box itself instead of packaging it up for shipping. I ordered a Tamron ultra-wide angle lens (~$500) but they sent me an incorrect Rokinon lens worth far less (~$200). I had an issue when I bought a camera lens from Amazon (shipped and sold by). They can definitely make it your problem! I was very nearly out $500 without a product to show for it. Has anyone run into this issue? How was it resolved in the end? I'm guessing Amazon's refund to me will be clawed back from the original seller somehow and that there may be some method for the seller to make me prove that I indeed mailed it back other than Amazon's site showing it is "In Transit". One thing is I'm pretty sure I never kept the receipt issued when I returned it after checking to make sure it was "In Transit" and I was issued a refund. Makes me wonder if I could do anything differently in the future. I called Amazon and after explaining the situation, they have issue me a refund for the new charge so overall, it has been a good experience.īut this is a new experience for me in that my returned item has been apparently lost in the mail. When the date passed and the item was still listed as being in transit, they charged me again for one of the items. The seller sent several emails saying that it had to arrive by such and such date which happened earlier this week. One item was received by the seller within a week and the other item has never arrived.

The incorrect items were dropped off at a local place that handles Amazon returns and Amazon updated my account within a couple days to show they were both "In Transit" and issued me a full refund. Last fall I purchased a quantity of two of a particular item on Amazon and when it arrived, I realized they weren't the right things so I returned them and bought the correct items from the same seller.
